How to create a theme or template for iWork Keynote

I am looking at purchasing the new Keynote '09 this summer/fall for creating presentations at work. I see a lot of features that PowerPoint 2003 does not offer, like object animations and media placeholders. But what about templates/themes?
The research
After a quick search in Google for "how to create keynote templates" , I found only templates already created for sale.
So I changed my search a bit,
"how to create keynote themes"
The first result in the list was from a site called mactipper.com... cool.
Clicked on the link called "How to Create Themes in Keynote '08" and found a YouTube video/tutorial on how to do this.
The results
After watching that 9:30 minute tutorial video, it looks DEAD SIMPLE to create themes with master slides and placeholders for photos and such.
Now I will just wait to upgrade to Snow Leopard, then purchase a copy of iWork '09!!
Check out the cool features and how to videos for iWork... totally awesome.
To set the record straight, PowerPoint 2007 has these new features to keep up with Keynote '09, but is not as easy to apply to a presentation:
- Alignment Guides for positition objects
- Placeholders
- SmartArt graphics, shapes, WordArt and charts with 3D effects, shading, reflections, glows and more...
- Transitions like new fades, wipes, 3D cube
- Object animations like fade, fly in, shimmer or blink.
