I wanted to test IE8 with the latest version, but I guess that's not happening.

Update to IE 8 RC1 on Windows 7 Beta Build 7000

Since Internet Explorer 8 RC1 came out, I thought I should update my VMWare Virtual Machine running Windows 7 Beta Build 7000.

So I fired up Windows 7 and tried the Windows Update.

Windows is up to date.

I guess all the software is up to date, so no update from build 7000 and IE 8 does not get the RC1 update.

But why not?

Is there a new build of Windows 7 that I am not getting or need to download?

Internet Explorer 8 RC1 does not install on Windows 7 Beta Build 7000

I tried to update IE 8 by going to the Download page for Internet Explorer and selected the download for Windows Internet Explorer 8 Release Candidate 1 for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008

This install program comes back with this error:

ie8rc1-windows7.jpg

OK... So I did a search on Windows 7 Build 7000 update and found that someone is leaking newer "versions" of Windows 7 through the torrent servers. The build numbers vary from 7022 to 7025 and what not.

Build 7000 IS THE LATEST, DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE TORRENTS

Some users have tried the 2.43GB download and found the build number to be the same at 7000.

So is it a virus, trojan, or ?? Who knows, I am not going to chance it.
