After a good sales meeting with a new client, I stopped by the electronics store Elkjøp and looked at the iPhone docking stations / speakers.
It was a pretty good day.
During lunchtime I stopped by the mall, and picked up some food and while passing the electronics store, I decided to take a look around.
I have been looking for a docking station / speaker set for my iPhone for a while. The idea was to listen to podcasts or music while in the shower at home.
Then it hit me, what about at work? What if I bought it on the company card?
Hey I work hard right? I deserve this :)
I looked at a few different models and ended up with the
Logitech Pure-Fi Express Plus™

So I unboxed the unit and placed it on my desk, plugged it into the wall and switched out the adapter on the top for the iPhone, and it works great.
It sits on the right side of my MacBook Pro so the I can either control the volume by reaching over slighly or by the remote control :)
The good: remote control - the best feature so far
I love the way the iPhone is tilted towards me so that when some one calls I can quickly see who it is and access the calendar or answer SMS while it sits there.
The fading out when a phone call comes in is pretty sweet too.
And that I can use batteries if I want to take it along for travelling. (How long the batteries will last, I have no idea)
The bad: No way to sync with iTunes
So I guess the only problem I see is that while my iPhone is charging in the dock, it not connected to the computer... hmm. That would have been a cool option to connect the unit by USB to the computer.
- iTunes could recognize the iPhone when you plug it in.
- it could also be an option for power
So why did they not offer this USB feature?
My only guess would be that Windows would need drivers. Maybe the Mac would too, but why would it?
I definitely will play around a bit more and see if anything else is "missing" but so far I am quite happy.
Recommend at work or at home.
